With the in-region win, the California University of Pennsylvania tennis team improves to 4-2 this season. Meanwhile, West Liberty falls to 12-7 overall.

Mariela Sarinana (Mexico City, Mexico/Miraflores) suffered a 9-8 (7-4) loss to Lauren Howard and Raquel Cabero in their first match at No. 1 doubles this season. Sophomores
Kiefer Shaw (Westmount, Quebec/Centennial) and
Veronika Mikulis (Otterburn Park, Quebec/Heritage Regional) defeated Emily Dawson and Alaina Pauley by an 8-1 count in the second slot. Senior
Jesse Burrell (Perth, Australia/Presbyterian Ladies' College) and freshman
Lena Dimmer (Wallendorf-Pont, Luxembourg/Lycée Classique) earned an 8-1 win at third doubles over Ekaterina Pinchuk and Lisa Nachtwey.
In singles play, Czakon moved up to the first position for the first time this year and defeated regionally-ranked Howard by 6-4, 4-6, 10-8 count. At second singles, Dimmer earned a 6-4, 6-2 win over Emily Dawson and freshman
Alice Johns (Northampton, England /Northampton) defeated Cabero in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2, at the third slot. Sarinana also recorded a straight-set victory, 6-2, 6-3, over Pinchuk at fourth singles and freshman
Katie Olson (Laguna Niguel, Calif./Dana Hills) tallied a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Andrea Puga at the fifth position. Burrell closed out the singles sweep with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Nachtwey at the sixth slot.
Cal U is scheduled to begin Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West action tomorrow, March 31, with a home match against Seton Hill at 1 p.m.
