With the loss, the California University of Pennsylvania tennis team falls to 1-2 this season. Meanwhile, West Virginia extends its winning streak to six matches and improves to 6-1 overall.

Jesse Burrell (Perth, Australia/Presbyterian Ladies' College) and sophomore
Kiefer Shaw (Westmount, Quebec/Centennial) suffered a 6-1 loss to Hailey Barrett and Ikttesh Chahal. West Virginia clinched the doubles point when freshmen
Katie Olson (Laguna Niguel, Calif./Dana Hills) and
Alice Johns (Northampton, England/Northampton) dropped a 6-1 match at the third slot to Lyn Yuen Choo and Habiba Shaker.
West Virginia then sealed the match victory by claiming three wins in singles play. Sophomore
Veronika Mikulis (Otterburn Park, Quebec/Heritage Regional) fell by a 6-1, 6-1 count against Habiba Shaker at the fourth position before senior
Ramona Czakon (Trier, Germany/Tampereen Lyseon Lukio) was dealt a 6-1, 6-2 loss by Choo at second singles. The Mountaineers closed the match when Yvon Martinez outlasted Johns by a 3-6, 6-1, 6-1 margin at the sixth slot.
The Vulcans return to action on Saturday, Feb. 21, when they travel to face Carnegie Mellon, the No. 7 team in NCAA Division III, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, at 12 p.m.
