CALIFORNIA (Nov. 5) -- The Vulcans earned a 3-1 (25-19, 19-25, 25-23. 26-24) win over visting Seton Hill in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) match Tuesday night at Hamer Hall.
The win improves the California University of Pennsylvania volleyball team to 24-5 overall and 17-1 in conference play. Meanwhile, the Griffins fall to 12-6 in the PSAC and 24-8 overall.
Four Vulcans finished with double-digit kills, including junior
Laurel Miller (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park) and senior
Molly Delaney (Carmel, Ind./Westfield), who each finished with kill/dig double-doubles. Miller finished with a game-high 19 kills and 16 digs, while Delaney posted 13 kills and 12 digs. Sophomores
Mary Lavery (La Plata, Md./La Plata) and
Miranda Fouzie (Kingston, Ontario/Sydenham) tallied 15 and 12 kills, respectively. Fouzie also contributed a team-high four blocks in the win.

Samantha Rudy (Greencastle, Pa./Greencastle-Antrim) led the defense with 27 digs and freshman
Kristen Scurpa (Sharpsville Pa./Sharpsville) chipped in 18 digs and a game-high 46 assists.
Sophomore
Renee Helmer (Oakville, Ontario/Abbey Park) made her season-debut for Cal U and contributed six service aces, including four-consectutive that helped the Vulcans win 10-straight points in the second set.
The third and fourth sets, each won by Cal U, featured a combined 15 tie scores and seven lead changes.
The Vulcans return to action Friday Nov., 8 when they host Slippery Rock. They match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Â
