Vulcans post shutout at Seton Hill, 3-0

GREENSBURG, Pa. (Oct. 8) – Sophomore Laurel Miller (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park) led three Vulcans with double-digit kills en route to a 3-0 win (25-17, 25-20, 25-21) over Seton Hill in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West action Tuesday night.
 
The win improves the California University of Pennsylvania volleyball team to 14-4 overall and 7-0 in league play. Meanwhile, the Griffins fall to 4-3 in league action and 15-5 overall.
 
Miller led Cal U with 13 kills and 10 digs, while sophomore Mary Lavery (La Plata, Md./La Plata) and senior Molly Delaney finished with 12 and 11 kills, respectively.
 
Freshman Julie Henderson (Pickering, Ontario/Dunbarton) guided the Vulcan offense with 31 of the team's 35 assists, while sophomore Samantha Rudy (Greencastle, Pa./Greencastle-Antrim) finished with a match-high 17 digs.
 
Seton Hill only managed a hitting percentage of .096, while Cal U finished the match with a hitting percentage of .211.
 
The Vulcans will remain on the road for a match at Edinboro on Friday, Oct. 11. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m.
