The Vulcans missed their next shot before Lytle recorded the offensive rebound and was fouled by the Bobcats. Lytle converted both free-throws with 50 seconds remaining to give Cal U a 66-64 lead before Dewberry responded with a three-pointer on the ensuing West Virginia Wesleyan possession. Cal U was unable to attempt a shot on the game's final possession despite calling a pair of timeouts.
