CALIFORNIA, Pa. (Oct. 27) Despite a triple-double by senior Kelly Fromknecht (Erie, Pa./McDowell), the Vulcans suffered a  3-1 loss (27-25, 25-20, 14-25, 25-21) to Gannon on Saturday afternoon at the Convocation Center in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West play.

With the loss, the Vulcans fall to 23-6 overall and remain in third place in the league standings with an 11-4 record. Meanwhile, the Golden Knights improve to 21-4 this season and maintain first place in the league standings with a 13-2 league mark.

Fromknecht posted her fifth triple-double of the season, tallying 14 kills, 11 assists and 13 digs. Junior Molly Delaney (Carmel, Ind./Westfield) posted 10 kills and 11 digs, while classmate Abbey Freund (Cottage Grove, Wis./Monona Grove) recorded a team-high 16 assists and 17 digs on Saturday. Senior Brandy Harris (Bedford, Pa./Bedford) tallied seven kills, nine digs and three service aces in the loss.

The Vulcans return to action on Friday, Nov. 2, when they travel to face Slippery Rock at 7 p.m.
