Williams selected to all-tournament team

ERIE (March 15) – After averaging 21.5 points and 4.0 steals in the NCAA post-season, California University of Pennsylvania senior guard Brooque Williams (Pittsburgh, Pa./Perry) was named to the Atlantic Region All-Tournament Team on Monday.

Williams led the Vulcans in scoring in both games played at the NCAA Tournament, losing in the second round at Hamer Hall on Saturday to Millersville. In the eight-team regional tournament, she finished third in scoring while shooting 53.3 percent (16-of-30) from the floor.

In a 72-60 opening-round win over Virginia State, Williams scored 21 points after making 9-of-16 attempts from the field and three-of-four from the free-throw line. Against the Marauders on Saturday, she finished with a game-high 22 points on 7-of-14 shooting from the floor and 8-of-12 from the charity stripe. The Pittsburgh native also added seven rebounds and five steals in the 74-63 loss.

Joining Williams on the all-tournament team were Seton Hill junior Jordan Burkes, Millersville senior Raquel Green and Gannon seniors Tiffany Crocker and Brittany Tabron. Tabron was selected the Atlantic Regional Tournament MVP after helping lead the Golden Knights to their first-ever regional championship while averaging 15.3 points, 13.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists.
