ERIE (Nov. 7) – The Vulcans clinched their fifth-straight 30-win season with a 3-0 victory (25-18, 25-19, 27-25) on Saturday at Mercyhurst in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West action. The California University of Pennsylvania volleyball team has also posted three-consecutive seasons without losing a match in conference play.
Cal U finishes the regular season with a 30-5 overall record and 19-0 mark in conference play. The Vulcans enter next week's PSAC Tournament as the top seed in the West and will host a quarterfinal match against fourth-seeded Gannon at Hamer Hall on Tuesday, Nov. 10, at 7 p.m. The semifinal and final of the PSAC Tournament will be hosted by the highest remaining seed in the PSAC East. Meanwhile, the Lakers fall to 20-12 overall and 11-8 in league play this year.

Joanna Nist (Rockwood, Pa./Rockwood) registered a match-high 18 kills and added seven digs, while sophomore middle hitter
Bridget Bielich (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park) tallied nine kills. Senior All-American
Ludmila Amaral (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Afonso Schimidt) finished with eight kills and five blocks and classmate
Ashley Moore (Yorktown, Va./Grafton) collected seven kills and eight digs.

Renata da Silva (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Colegio Ateneu) directed the offense with 41 kills and added nine digs and four blocks, while junior libero
Julie Paronish (Hastings, Pa./Northern Cambria) recorded a team-high 14 digs.
The Vulcans, who have won seven-straight PSAC Tournament matches dating back to the finals of 2006, swept the regular-season series against the Golden Knights in each of the last two seasons.
