CALIFORNIA (Oct. 28) – Senior
Nick Helbig (Carnegie, Pa./Chartiers Valley) scored a pair of goals, including the game-winner on a penalty kick in 84th minute, as the California University of Pennsylvania men's soccer team earned a 2-1 victory over Wheeling Jesuit in non-conference play on Wednesday at Roadman Park.
With the win in their final home game of the regular season, the Vulcans improve to 12-6 overall. Meanwhile, the Cardinals drop to 10-5-3 this year.

The game remained tied at 1-1 until the 84th minute when Helbig tallied his sixth goal and first game-winner of the season.

Charlie Dagnal (Carnegie, Pa./Carlynton) earned his fourth victory of the year after making four saves against the Cardinals. Wheeling Jesuit's Shane Young posted three saves in 90 minutes.
In a physical contest on muddy field conditions, the Cardinals held a slim a 10-9 advantage in shots and the Vulcans had a 6-3 edge in corner kicks.
Cal U concludes its regular season on Saturday, Oct. 31, when it travels to face West Virginia Wesleyan in non-conference action. Live stats are scheduled to be available for the game, which will start at 4 p.m.
