Villa helped the Vulcans capture the invitational title while hosting the Fire Classic at Lone Pine Country Club. He tied for second overall with a four-over 148 (75-73) in a field of 55 golfers from eight teams, including six PSAC programs. Villa was tied for the opening-round lead after firing six birdies before tallying five birdies and 10 pars in the second round. California won the event by 13 strokes after shooting a 37-over 613 (312-301).
