Loyd averaged 20.0 points, 4.5 assists and 3.0 steals over the weekend, as California opened the year with a split at MEC/PSAC Challenge. She scored 28 points and added four assists and five steals in a 70-67 overtime victory on Friday against West Liberty. The following day, Loyd finished with 12 points and five assists versus host and nationally-ranked Charleston (W.Va.), which is the two-time, defending-MEC Champion.
