McCaskey recorded nine strikeouts over 5.0 scoreless innings while making his first career start on the mound in Game 2 against Salem on Sunday. He allowed just two baserunners and retired the last seven batters he faced, striking out the side in order in the top of the fifth. McCaskey also led the team with two homers, six RBI and six runs scored while hitting at a .357 clip (5-for-14) in three games last week. The junior shortstop tallied an RBI triple and belted his first career grand slam versus Clarion on Saturday. The following day, he went 3-for-5 with a solo homer and three runs scored in Game 1 against Salem.
