LOCK HAVEN, Pa. (Sept. 22) – Following her individual victory over the weekend, California (PA) senior
Rosalyn Perozzi was tabbed the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Athlete of the Week on Tuesday afternoon.
Perozzi earned her second individual win of the fall on Friday while competing at the Penn State Behrend Invitational. She finished the six-kilometer course in a time of 23 minutes, 11.4 seconds to pace the field by nearly 30 seconds. Perozzi also helped the Vulcans capture the invitational title in Erie after totaling 27 points behind five of top-10 individual runners.
A native of nearby Belle Vernon, Perozzi earned weekly league honors for the first time in her collegiate career. She received All-PSAC First-Team status in cross country last year after finishing third at the league championships. In the spring, Perozzi captured the outdoor title in the 5,000-meter run at the PSAC Championships.
The Vulcans are idle until Oct. 3 when they compete at the Mountie Invitational hosted by Mount Aloysius in Cresson, Pennsylvania.
