NUTTER FORT, W.Va. (Feb. 28) – The California (PA) baseball team dropped a 4-1 contest at Salem after committing five errors on Saturday afternoon as part of the Atlantic Region Crossover.
NOTES
• California (3-2) has lost back-to-back games this weekend by identical 4-1 scores.
• The Tigers took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first on a double following an error.
• In the fifth, the Vulcans cut the deficit to a 2-1 margin on an RBI triple by redshirt freshman designated hitter
Chad Helwich.
• Salem added a pair of insurance runs in the eighth inning on a two hits and two errors.
• Helwich and sophomore center fielder
Peyton Ford each finished with two hits, as the Vulcans collected eight hits and zero walks.

• Cal is scheduled to close out the weekend tomorrow, Sunday, March 1, with a nine-inning contest versus Shepherd in Morgantown, West Virginia, at Kendrick Family Ballpark with play starting at 3:30 p.m.
