JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (Feb. 18) – The California (PA) women's basketball team saw its 23-game winning streak in the series against Pitt-Johnstown snapped on Wednesday evening following a 73-57 road loss in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West action.

• The Vulcans (11-16, 7-10) suffered their first loss in the series with the Mountain Cats since the 2013-14 season.

Hope Hawkins led the team with 14 points on 6-of-10 shooting and added seven rebounds.

Trinity Balog added 13 points and five assists, while Junior
Kimaya Williams finished with 10 points, nine rebounds and two steals.
• UPJ held a 15-12 lead at the end of the first quarter after the teams combined for seven lead changes.
• The Mountain Cats maintained the lead for most of the second quarter with the margin never exceeding four points before UPJ took a 37-33 lead at the break.
• UPJ shot nearly 70 percent (9-of-13) in the third quarter and used an 18-4 run over the final seven-plus minutes to build a 57-41 lead.
• The Mountain Cats maintained a double-digit lead throughout the fourth quarter to secure the 73-57 victory.
• Cal shot 40.7 percent (22-of-54) from the field compared to a 51.6 clip (32-of-62) by UPJ.
• The Mountain Cats held a slight 33-31 rebounding advantage and were credited with 22 assists on 32 field goals.

• The Vulcans continue the week-long road trip on Saturday, Feb. 21, when they face Edinboro at 1 p.m.
• Cal remains tied for fifth place in the PSAC West standings and sits one game ahead of UPJ with three games left in the regular season.
