YORK, Pa. (Feb. 18) – The Vulcans registered their fastest time in the 800 freestyle relay in two years on Wednesday during the opening day of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships at the Graham Aquatic Center.
The California (PA) swimming team sits No. 11 in the team standings at the league meet with 32 points after four events. West Chester raced out to a commanding lead with 330.5 points after winning 18 of the last 19 conference titles. Bloomsburg ranks second at the championship event with 202.5 points and Clarion sits third with 199.5 points.

Adeline McCusker placed 11th overall during the second session with a time of 8 minutes, 12.23 seconds. The Vulcans trimmed more than eight seconds off their previous best time this winter, while marking their fastest performance in the event since the 2023-24 campaign.
In the preliminaries, senior
Audrey Weaver was the team's top finisher among three entries in the 200 IM with a time of 2:19.06. McCusker set a season-best time in the event after touching the wall in 2:23.71.
Senior
Ashlyn Hornick paced three entries in the 50 freestyle during the morning session with a time of 25.47 seconds. Glaser established a personal best in the event with a time of 26.51 seconds.
Cal continues action at the PSAC Championships tomorrow, Thursday, Feb. 19, with preliminaries starting at 10 a.m. The Vulcans have seven entries across three events scheduled to compete in the third session.
