California rolls to victory at Seton Hill

Lucas reaches 1,000-point milestone; Vulcans mount multiple 17-4 runs in second half

GREENSBURG, Pa. (Feb. 11) – Behind a dominant stretch in the second half, the Vulcans rolled to an 83-48 victory at Seton Hill in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West action on Wednesday night.

NOTES
• California (16-6, 13-2) extended its winning streak in the series with Seton Hill to 15 games.
• Sophomore Keondre DeShields scored a career-high 26 points on 10-of-14 shooting, including four-of-six from beyond the arc.
• He also added six assists and two rebounds while making his second start of the year.
• Sophomore Jordyn Buchanan tallied 18 points, seven rebounds, two blocks and three steals in the win.
• Redshirt junior Bryson Lucas recorded a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds, plus collected four assists and two steals, against the Griffins.
• He also became the 39th player in program history, and seventh under head coach Danny Sancomb, to score 1,000 career points.
• Junior Dalman Alexander finished with 10 points, six rebounds (four offensive) and two blocks, while senior Brayden Reynolds collected eight assists.
• The Vulcans mounted a 15-5 run midway through the first half to build a 29-16 lead with 4:37 left before the break.
• Cal later held a 38-27 halftime lead after shooting at a 58.6 clip (17-of-29) from the floor.
• The Vulcans opened the second half with a 17-4 rally to extend the advantage to a 55-31 margin with 14:00 remaining.
• Four minutes later, Cal mounted another 17-4 run behind five three-pointers to seize a commanding 76-39 lead at the 5:50-mark.
• The Vulcans finished the game with a .548 field-goal percentage (34-of-62) and held a 45-32 rebounding advantage.
• Cal limited Seton Hill to a season-low 48 points with the Griffins shooting under 28 percent (10-of-36) in the second half.

NEXT
• The Vulcans return to action on Saturday, Feb. 14, when they host Clarion at the Convocation Center with tip-off at 3 p.m.
• Cal has already secured a berth to the PSAC Tournament and remains second in the PSAC West standings.
• The Vulcans play three of their final five games in the regular season at home.
