Swimming places third at Vulcan Invitational

Results

CALIFORNIA (Jan. 17) – The California (PA) swimming team continued its weekend homestand by finishing third at the Vulcan Invitational with the event featuring the same five teams from yesterday's Winter Frenzy.

STANDINGS
• The Vulcans totaled 125 points while hosting teams from three different states.
• Hillsdale (MI) won the event with 257 points after winning all nine events and Frostburg State placed second with 143 points.

NOTES
• Sophomore Adeline McCusker and freshman Abby Simpkins both posted second-place finishes in individual events on Saturday.
• McCusker touched the wall in 2 minutes, 37.45 seconds in the 200 breaststroke, while Simpkins finished the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:02.68.
• The 400 freestyle relay of freshman Ashlyn Zeier, sophomore Carly Glaser, senior Ashlyn Hornick and freshman Callie McCann posted a time of 3:54.63 to finish fourth in the event.

NEXT
• The Vulcans return to the pool on Saturday, Nov. 24, when they host the fourth-annual PennWest Duals against Clarion and Edinboro with events starting at 1 p.m.
