Women's Soccer suffers loss to Edinboro

Bishop tallies six saves on Saturday; Fighting Scots score on PK with 11 minutes left to play

CALIFORNIA (Sept. 27) – The Vulcans dropped a 1-0 contest against Edinboro in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West play on Saturday afternoon after yielding the lone goal on a penalty kick late in the second half at the Phillipsburg Soccer Complex.

NOTES
• The California (PA) women's soccer team (0-6-1, 0-3-1) dropped its fifth game this year by a 1-0 margin.
• The Vulcans and Fighting Scots combined for just five shots in the first half with three being placed on goal.
• In the 79th minute, Edinboro made a save on a shot attempt before flipping the field in just seconds with Cal being issued a yellow card inside the box at the 78:52-mark.
• Freshman Jade Cole converted the penalty kick for eighth goal of the year, the second-most in the PSAC this fall.
• The teams later alternated a trio of shots on goal within a span two minutes.
• The Fighting Scots held a 11-10 shot advantage after the teams combined for 16 shots in the second half.
• Edinboro also finished with 4-3 edge in corner kicks.
• Freshman Autumn Bishop posted six saves while playing all 90 minutes on Saturday.

• The Vulcans return to action on Wednesday, Oct. 1, when they host IUP in PSAC West play at 6 p.m.
