CALIFORNIA (Sept. 26) – Behind a trio of players with double-digit kills, the Vulcans claimed a 3-0 win (25-22, 25-20, 25-18) against Bloomsburg in non-conference action at the Convocation Center on Friday evening.
NOTES
• The California (PA) volleyball team (11-2) recorded its second-best hitting percentage with a .286 clip against the Huskies.
• Junior
Sarah Stephenson paced the team with 12 kills and made zero attack errors while boasting a .600 hitting percentage.
• Sophomore
Lindsey Scammell added 11 kills on a .579 clip with no attack errors and senior
Elisa Rugiero tallied 10 kills on a .318 mark.

Adrianna Favata guided the offense with 21 and 18 assists, respectively.

Caroline Mercer paced the defense with 18 digs and freshman
Olivia Weiseman added 10 digs in the victory.
• Scammell anchored the net with five blocks, plus collected three service aces, on Friday.
• In the opening set, Cal held an 11-4 run before Bloomsburg rallied off 11-consecutive points.
• The Vulcans responded by winning eight of the next nine points and eventually held the Huskies to a negative hitting percentage for the set.
• In the second set, Cal mounted a 12-3 run midway through the set to build a commanding 23-15 lead.
• The Vulcans hit at blistering .359 mark in the third set after posting a 13-3 run early in the set.
