CALIFORNIA (Sept. 27) – The California (PA) volleyball team completed a sweep of its weeklong homestand on Saturday afternoon with a 3-1 victory (22-25, 25-20, 25-17, 25-19) over Lock Haven at the Convocation Center in non-conference play.
NOTES
• The Vulcans (12-2) nearly matched their season high in digs and reached double-digit blocks for the fifth time this fall.

Elisa Rugiero set a season high with 15 kills on a .205 hitting percentage on Saturday.
• Freshman
Olivia Weiseman tallied her ninth kill/dig double-double with 12 kills and 17 digs.
• Senior
Adrianna Favata collected her 21 assists and 12 digs for her third assist/dig double-double this year.
• Sophomore
Morgan Johnson added 17 assists over the four sets.

Caroline Mercer paced the defense with a career-high 26 digs against the Bald Eagles.

Ava Norfolk five blacks in the victory.
• In the opening set, Lock Haven built a 13-6 lead before Cal cut the deficit to one point, 17-16.
• The Vulcans eventually fell by a 25-22 margin after committing nine attacking errors in the first set.
• Cal captured the opening eight points of the second set and led the duration of the set while hitting at a .256 clip with just three attacking errors.
• In the third set, the Vulcans again led for the duration of play and earned the victory by winning six of the final eight points of the set.
• Cal mounted a 9-2 run midway through the fourth set before earning its third match win of the week.
• The Vulcans are off to their best start to a season since the 2012 campaign when they finished with 30 victories and advanced to the NCAA Atlantic Region Championship.
