GREENSBURG, Pa. (Sept. 24) – The California (PA) women's soccer team snapped a five-game losing streak on Wednesday afternoon with a 1-1 tie at Seton Hill in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West action.
NOTES
• The Vulcans (0-5-1, 0-2-1) registered their initial point of the year in the divisional standings with the tie.
• Cal pressured the net with a pair of shots on net within a 90-second span in the opening 10 minutes of the game.
• The Griffins claimed a 1-0 lead in the 24th minute when Lauren Mealie scored off a deflected shot from the top of the box.
• Cal tied the score at the 33:37-mark when freshman
Macrina Robb tallied her first career goal off an assist from sophomore
Layna Grassi.
• The teams combined to place only one shot on goal in the second half on Wednesday.
• Freshman
Autumn Bishop tallied three saves while playing all 90 minutes.
• The Vulcans finished the game with a 15-9 shot advantage after limiting the Griffins to only one attempt over the last 45 minutes.
• Cal also held a 6-1 edge in corner kicks in the contest.
