CALIFORNIA (Sept. 17) – The California (PA) tennis team opened its fall campaign with a 6-1 victory over Frostburg State in non-conference action on Wednesday afternoon at Roadman Park.
NOTES
• The Vulcans (1-0) were playing the Bobcats for the fourth time in the last six seasons, and first time since the spring 2023 campaign.
• Cal swept the doubles session to earn the doubles point on Wednesday.

Lilli Schreiber and sophomore
Izabelle Heacox opened the match with a 6-3 victory at the third position, while senior
Diletta Maria Mungo and sophomore
Garance Laforet posted a 6-2 win at the second slot.
• Seniors
Teddi Isherwood and
Leandra Guldimann then claimed a 7-6 tiebreak victory at first doubles.
• In singles, Heacox started the session with a 6-2, 6-1 win at the sixth slot followed by Laforet earning a 6-2, 6-1 victory at the fourth position.
• Schreiber clinched the match win with a 7-5, 1-6, 1-0 victory at fifth singles versus Frostburg State.
• Guldiman rallied for a 1-6, 7-6, 1-0 victory at the third position and Mungo finished play with a 6-4, 5-7, 1-0 at the second slot.

• Cal returns to action on Friday, Sept. 19, when it travels to face Shippensburg in non-conference play at 6 p.m.
