KUTZTOWN, Pa. (Sept. 12) – The Vulcans opened their weekend play with a 3-0 win (26-24, 25-20, 25-18) over Caldwell (NJ) on Friday afternoon at the Shannon Sullivan Memorial Tournament hosted by Kutztown.
NOTES
• The California (PA) volleyball team (4-0) has started the year with four-consecutive victories for the fifth time in the last two decades (2005, 2006, 2008, 2023).
• The Vulcans have already surpassed their win total from last season.

Olivia Weiseman established a season high with 18 kills on a .471 hitting percentage.

Elisa Rugiero and sophomore
Anna-Marie Petricevic added eight and six kills, respectively, on Friday.

Morgan Johnson paced the team with 19 assists and senior
Adrianna Favata finished with 13 assists versus Caldwell.

Kay Lindenfelser collected nine digs, while Weiseman added eight digs.

Sarah Stephenson totaled five blocks against the Cougars.
