CALIFORNIA (June 24) – The California (PA) men's track & field/cross country teams placed five student-athletes on the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team on Tuesday afternoon.
Seniors
Noah Bernarding,
Nick Gevaudan,
Ethan Moyer,
Brady Shore and
Kohen Stover earned honors from the organization. Bernarding and Moyer collected laurels for the third-consecutive year, while Gevaudan, Shore and Stover received the accolades for the first time in their careers.
Bernarding captured the league title in the 800-meter run at the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships in the spring after placing third overall at the league's cross country championships during the fall. He also broke his own outdoor school record in the 800 meters in 2025 to close his career with a combined four individual school marks. A CSC Third-Team Academic All-American last year, Bernarding maintains a 3.81 cumulative grade-point average (GPA) while completing his master's degree in counseling with a concentration in clinical mental health. He earned his bachelor's degree from PennWest last May while holding a 3.86 cumulative GPA.
Gevaudan established multiple personal bests this season while ranking among the top 50 in the Atlantic Region in both the hammer throw and weight throw. He boasted a 3.92 cumulative GPA while finishing his degree in PreK-4 education.
Moyer scored in the javelin throw at the PSAC Championships in the spring with a season-best distance that finished among the top 10 in the region. He held a 3.63 cumulative GPA while completing a degree in graphic design.
Shore registered four personal bests in 2025 and ranked among the top 50 regionally in the hammer throw. He completed his degree in psychology with a minor in sociology while boasting a 3.92 GPA.
Stover finished among the top 35 in the Atlantic Region in the 3,000-meter steeplechase this spring after competing at both the conference and regional cross country championships. He holds a 4.00 cumulative GPA while pursuing a master's degree in advanced study in education with a concentration in curriculum, instruction & teacher leadership. Stover previously completed his undergraduate degree in secondary education with a concentration in mathematics from Commonwealth (Lock Haven) last May.
To qualify for CSC Academic All-District honors, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, maintain a cumulative 3.50 GPA and be ranked among the top 50 in an individual event in their respective region on the TFRRS performance list. Additionally, each institution is capped at five nominees in the sport of men's track & field/cross country.
Bernarding was chosen as CSC Academic All-America finalist and advances to the national ballot with the CSC Academic All-America Teams being announced next month.
