CALIFORNIA (April 23) – In a preview of next week's league tournament, the Vulcans closed the regular season with a 7-0 loss against Slippery Rock on Wednesday afternoon in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West action at Roadman Park.
NOTES
• The California (PA) tennis team (14-6, 4-2) finished the regular season third in the divisional standings, marking its best finish since winning the 2016 PSAC Championships.
• The Vulcans and The Rock had already clinched berths in the league tournament with the match determining hosting rights, as the second seed hosts the third seed in the quarterfinals.
• Slippery Rock swept the doubles session on Wednesday to secure the doubles point.

Teddi Isherwood and
Leandra Guldimann dropped a 6-4 match at the first position to the No. 35 doubles team in the country, Alissia Kivi and Nicole Kempton.
• The Rock completed the match victory by winning all six singles matches at Roadman Park.
• Isherwood fell by a 4-6, 6-4, 1-0 margin at the first slot to the No. 35 singles player in the nation, Amaia Balaguer Brau.

• The Vulcans travel to face The Rock in the quarterfinals of the PSAC Tournament on Tuesday, April 29, with the match starting at 4 p.m.
• The semifinals and finals of the tournament will be held on May 2-3 in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania.
• Cal and Slippery Rock will meet in the PSAC Tournament for the first time since the 2010 finals when the Vulcans claimed a 5-0 win for its fourth-consecutive league title.
