CALFIRONIA (April 1) – In their first match in two weeks, the Vulcans suffered a 6-1 loss versus Salem on Tuesday afternoon at Roadman Park in non-conference action.
NOTES
• The California (PA) tennis team (10-3) has split the last four matches against Salem, an independent program in the Atlantic Region.
• The Tigers captured the doubles point after winning a pair of matches during the session.
• Juniors
Teddi Isherwood and
Leandra Guldimann earned a 6-4 victory at the first position, marking their team-leading 12th doubles win of the year.
• Isherwood and Guldimann have already posted the most doubles wins in a season for a tandem since the 2015-16 campaign.
• Cal featured a modified doubles lineup in the match with junior
Diletta Maria Mungo playing at third doubles for only the second time this season and with a new doubles partner.
• Mungo registered the lone victory in singles play on Tuesday with a 6-2, 2-6, 1-0 win at the third position.
• She is now tied with Guldimann for the team lead with 12 wins in singles action.
