CALIFORNIA (Dec. 8) – The Vulcans mounted a staggering 35-2 run over nine minutes in the second half on Monday evening to roll to a 73-49 win over Bowie State at Hamer Hall in non-conference play.

• California (4-4) extended its winning streak to three games, with its last two victories coming by at least 20 points.
• The Vulcans were hosting the Bulldogs for the first time since the 2010-11 season.

Jordyn Buchanan led the team with 20 points behind four-of-nine from long range and added seven rebounds and three assists.

• The Vulcans raced out to a 12-0 lead over the opening four minutes before the Bulldogs cut the deficit to 19-13 with 11:01 left in the first half.
• Cal responded with six-straight points to push the lead back to 12 points, 25-13, before taking a 31-26 lead into the break.
• The Vulcans started their decisive second-half run in the second half at the 16:24-mark and made 13-of-15 shot attempts over a span of nine-plus minutes.
• Buchanan and Lucas combined for 22 points during the run, which featured six dunks.
• Cal held a 69-30 lead with 7:04 left to play and maintained a 30-point advantage until the final minute.
• The Vulcans shot 48.1 percent (26-of-54) from the floor and converted 15-of-22 (68.2 percent) from the free-throw line.
• Cal held a 40-36 rebounding advantage while setting season highs of 17 assists and 12 steals.
