CALIFORNIA (Dec. 1) – The California (PA) women's basketball team erased a 16-point halftime lead in the closing seconds of regulation before dropping a 77-74 overtime contest to Ashland (OH) on Monday evening at the Convocation Center in non-conference action.
NOTES
• The Vulcans (3-6) played their first overtime games since last November against Millersville.
• Cal and Ashland were meeting for the first time since the 2009-10 season.

Kimaya Williams both recorded double-doubles against the Eagles.
• Young led the team with 22 points, 11 rebounds and five steals while playing 37 minutes off the bench.
• Williams finished with her second double-double of the year behind 12 points and 10 rebounds (four offensive), plus added three assists and two steals.

Hope Hawkins tallied 16 points, nine rebounds (four offensive) and three assists, while classmate
Trinity Balog added 12 points.
• Ashland led by as many as 16 points in the contest late in the first half before Cal claimed the lead, 60-59, on a jumper by Young with three seconds left in regulation.
• The Eagles forced overtime by converting a free-throw in the final second.
• Cal scored the opening points of overtime before Ashland went on an 11-4 run to take a 71-66 lead at the 2:21-mark.
• The Vulcans responded by cutting the deficit to 75-74 with 11 seconds remaining before committing a turnover on their final possession.
• Cal held a 17-9 lead at the end of the first quarter after holding Ashland to just 3-of-13 shooting.
• The Eagles out-scored the Vulcans by a 31-7 margin in the second quarter by making 12-of-16 from the floor to take a 40-24 lead at halftime.
• Cal started the third quarter on a 12-1 rally to trim the deficit to 41-36 at the 5:02-mark.
• Ashland led by as many as 12 points in the opening seconds of the fourth quarter before Cal answered with a 21-8 rally over the majority of the quarter.
• Cal finished the game shooting 42.0 percent (29-of-69) from the floor and went 14-of-26 (53.8 percent) from the free-throw line.
• The Eagles held a 50-42 rebounding advantage, while the Vulcans finished with 46 points in the paint.
