BLOOMSBURG, Pa. (Dec. 6) – Led by all five starters scoring in double-digits, the Vulcans claimed a 70-59 win at Bloomsburg while opening Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Crossover play on Saturday afternoon.
NOTES
• California (4-6, 1-0) played its first road game in the series since December 2021.
• Junior
Macy Sardone and sophomore
Trinity Balog tied for the team lead with 16 points.
• Sardone established a career high behind four-of-five from beyond the arc and added three rebounds while playing 35 minutes.
• Balog made three-of-five from long range and tallied three rebounds and four assists in the win.
• Senior
Alicia Young posted 14 points, nine rebounds and two assists, while sophomore
Hope Hawkins registered 12 points and three rebounds.
• Junior
Kimaya Williams collected 10 points, nine rebounds, four assists and four steals versus the Huskies.
• Cal mounted a 9-2 run late in the first quarter to build an 18-12 lead at the 2:32-mark.
• The Huskies responded with 10-unanswered points over three minutes in the second quarter to take a 24-20 lead with 6:51 left before halftime.
• The Vulcans later held a 39-32 lead at the break following an 11-3 rally late in the second quarter.
• Bloomsburg trimmed the deficit to 43-39 in the third quarter before Cal held a 56-45 advantage at the end of the quarter.
• The Huskies again pulled within four points, 58-54, with 6:15 remaining before the Vulcans closed the game on a 12-5 run.
• Cal shot 50 percent (29-of-58) in the victory and made a season-high nine three-pointers.
• The teams combined for only 10 free-throw attempts on Saturday.
• Both teams recorded with 34 rebounds with the Vulcans scoring 36 points in the paint.

• The Vulcans return to action on Saturday, Dec. 13, when they face Robert Morris at the UPMC Events Center in Moon Township, Pennsylvania, with tip-off at 4 p.m.
