EDINBORO, Pa. (Nov. 7) – The California (PA) women's basketball team suffered a 66-57 loss to Northern Michigan of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) on Friday evening during the opening day of the Conference Commissioners Association (CCA) Division 2 Tip-Off Classic.

• The Vulcans (0-1) are one of three teams from the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) competing at the eight-team event in Erie County.
• NMU was picked to finish second in the preseason GLIAC poll after advancing to the second round of the 2025 NCAA Tournament and posting a 23-9 record last year.

Alicia Young scored a game-high 20 points on 9-of-16 shooting and added three rebounds.
• She reached the 20-point mark for the fourth time in her career.

• NMU held a 10-3 lead at the 4:36-mark of the first quarter before Cal scored 11-unanswered points to claim a 14-10 advantage with 8:50 remaining in the second quarter.
• The Vulcans scored 20 points in the second quarter and led by as many as 12 points, 25-13, before taking a 30-22 lead at the break.
• NMU shot a blistering 71.4 percent (10-of-14) in the third quarter and held a 44-41 lead at the end of the quarter.
• The Vulcans trailed by a 51-50 margin with 5:38 left to play before the Wildcats scored 11-consecutive points over a span of three-plus minutes.
• Cal finished the game shooting 42.3 percent (22-of-52) from the floor and attempted just eight free-throws.
• The Wildcats held a 40-21 rebounding advantage behind 14 offensive rebounds that led to 20 second-chance points.
