CALIFORNIA (Nov. 1) – The California (PA) volleyball team completed a season sweep over Clarion for the first time since 2016 following a 3-2 win (26-24, 16-25, 25-18, 22-25, 18-16) in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West play at the Convocation Center on Saturday evening.
NOTES
• The Vulcans (17-9, 4-6) have won back-to-back, five-set matches since the opening weekend of the 2023 season.

Olivia Weiseman registered her 14th kill/dig double-double of the year with 13 kills and 21 digs.

Sarah Stephenson totaled 12 kills and senior
Elisa Rugiero collected 11 kills.

Ava Norfolk added nine kills while hitting at a .350 clip.

Adrianna Favata and sophomore
Morgan Johnson both posted assist/dig double-doubles against the Golden Eagles.
• Favata finished with 26 assists and 19 digs, while Johnson tallied 24 assists and 10 digs.

Caroline Mercer paced five players in double-digit digs with 29 digs and sophomore
Kasie Meek added a career-high 21 digs.

Lindsey Scammell recorded six blocks and added seven kills in the victory.
• In the first set, Cal closed play with an 8-3 run to earn a 26-24 victory.
• The Golden Eagles evened the match score with a 25-16 win after totaling 17 kills on a .286 hitting percentage in the second set.
• In the third set, the Vulcans won eight of nine points late before winning by a 25-18 margin.
• Clarion held a seven-point lead in the fourth set before Cal won seven of eight points before the Golden Eagles won the final two points, 25-22.
• In the fifth set, Cal held a 14-8 lead before Clarion rallied to win six-consecutive points to tie the score.
• The Vulcans earned the match victory on block assist by Norfolk and Weiseman, 18-16.
