CALIFORNIA (Nov. 1) – The Vulcans scored in all three phases to earn a 31-26 victory over No. 24 Frostburg State in non-conference play on Saturday afternoon at Adamson Stadium.
NOTES
• California (6-3) posted its third win over a nationally-ranked opponent this season, its most since the 2016 campaign.
• The Vulcans and Bobcats were both among the 10 programs from Super Region One under consideration for NCAA post-season play earlier this week.

Keith Charney set a career high with 12 tackles (six solo) and added his third interception of the year.
• Senior defensive lineman
Josh Hough tallied seven stops (three solo), while four other players finished with six tackles against Frostburg State.

Kendrick Agenor finished with 99 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 18 attempts.
• Sophomore quarterback
Phaeton Hill posted 140 passing yards, while junior
D'Avay Johnson made four receptions for 71 yards.

Deontae Williams returned a kickoff for a touchdown in consecutive weeks, becoming the first player in over two decades with multiple kickoff returns for a touchdown in a season.
RECAP
• The Vulcans claimed a 7-0 lead midway through the first quarter when sophomore linebacker
Malachi Thomas posted a 42-yard interception return for a touchdown at the 6:20-mark.
• FSU immediately answered with a 92-yard kickoff return on the ensuing play to tie the score, 7-7.
• Cal followed with a 10-play scoring drive capped by a five-yard touchdown run from Agenor with 53 seconds left in the quarter.
• The Bobcats cut the deficit to 14-10 early in the second quarter on a 37-yard field goal before Williams returned the ensuing kickoff 87 yards for a touchdown with 11:04 left before halftime.
• FSU added another 37-yard field goal later in the quarter then blocked a punt and returned it for a touchdown at the 1:40-mark, 21-19 (two-point conversion failed).
• The Vulcans extended their lead to 24-19 with 5:09 left in the third quarter on a 23-yard field goal by sophomore
Harry Radcliffe.
• The Bobcats advanced inside the red zone on their next possession before Charney intercepted a pass on the first play of the fourth quarter.
• Cal then pushed its lead to double-digits with a four-yard touchdown run by Agenor with 9:42 remaining, 31-19.
• FSU later cut the deficit to 31-26 on a six-yard touchdown run with 2:02 left before Cal secured the victory by recovering the ensuing onside kick.

• The Vulcans close out PSAC West play on Saturday, Nov. 8, when they travel to face Gannon in Erie, Pennsylvania, at 12 p.m.
• Cal sits in a tie for fourth place in the divisional standings with a 2-3 league mark.
