CALIFORNIA (Oct. 28) – Five players registered double-digit digs on Tuesday evening, as the California (PA) volleyball team dropped a 3-1 loss (25-19, 27-25, 22-25, 25-18) to Walsh (Ohio) in non-conference play at the Convocation Center.
NOTES
• The Vulcans (15-9) played their final non-conference match of the season against the Cavaliers.
• Junior
Sarah Stephenson and freshman
Olivia Weiseman tied for the team lead with 11 kills, while Weiseman added 15 digs for her 12th kill/dig double-double of the season.
• Senior
Elisa Rugiero posted 10 kills and sophomore Lindsay Scammell tallied nine kills.

Adrianna Favata collected 23 assists, while sophomore
Morgan Johnson recorded her third assist/dig double-double with 18 assists and 14 digs.

Caroline Mercer paced the defensive effort with 19 digs, while junior
Kay Lindenfelser finished with 16 digs.

Tayla Pascoe also reached double-digit digs on Tuesday with 10.
• In the opening set, the Cavaliers tallied 21 kills and hit at a staggering .500 clip.
• Walsh won seven of nine points midway through the set to seize a 21-15 lead before finishing with a 25-19 victory.
• The Vulcans and Cavaliers combined for 16 ties in the second set before Walsh closed the set by claiming seven of the last 10 points, 27-25.
• In the third set, Walsh raced out to a 15-4 lead before Cal answered with nine-unanswered points to take an 18-17 advantage.
• The Vulcans later won five the of the final six points to secure a 25-22 victory.
• Walsh jumped out to a 9-1 lead to open the fourth set and committed just three attack errors in the set while earning a 25-18 win.
