CALIFORNIA (Oct. 25) – The California (PA) swimming team won six events (five individual, one relay) on Saturday afternoon while hosting a tri-meet against Mountain East Conference (MEC) programs Davis & Elkins and West Virginia Wesleyan.
TEAM SCORES
• The Vulcans (1-2-1) were hosting their initial home event of the season.
• Cal rolled to a 207-24 victory against West Virginia Wesleyan and claimed a 130-130 tie versus Davis & Elkins.
PSAC STANDARDS
• Freshman
Ashlyn Zeier reached the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) qualifying standard in the 200 backstroke for the first time this season at the tri-meet.
VICTORIES
• Zeier claimed multiple individual wins while making her home debut.
• She captured the 50 backstroke by more than 1.5 seconds with a time of 28.62 seconds and later posted a victory in the 200 backstroke by touching the wall in 2:15.32.
• Sophomore
Liv Slivinski recorded the victory in the 1000 freestyle by nearly 18 seconds with a time of 12:11.74.
• Seniors
Ella Root and
Audrey Weaver both captured wins on Saturday at the home event.
• Root topped the field in the 50 breaststroke with a time of 32.28 seconds, while Weaver won the 200 IM with a time of 2:20.11.

Abby Simpkins and senior
Ashlyn Hornick opened the day with a victory by 10-plus seconds with a time of 1:54.13.
