California drops contest to Lock Haven

Espinosa records first career goal on PK; Visco tallies five saves for fifth time this year

CALIFORNIA (Oct. 25) – The Vulcans closed a three-game homestand with a 3-1 loss versus Lock Haven on Saturday afternoon in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West action at the Phillipsburg Soccer Facility.

NOTES
• California (2-10-1, 0-7) has played four of its last five games at home dating back to Oct. 8.
• The teams played to a scoreless first half after combining for eight shot attempts, including five shots on goal.
• The Bald Eagles claimed a 1-0 lead in the 54th minute on a goal by Noah Brady.
• Lock Haven added to the lead at the 73:39-mark when Brady tallied his second goal of the contest and sixth of the year.
• The Vulcans trimmed the deficit to a 2-1 margin when sophomore Jaime Marcelo Espinosa converted a penalty kick in the 83rd minute for the first goal of his career.
• The Bald Eagles responded four minutes later on a goal by Camden Marquette, his fifth of the fall.
• Senior AJ Visco registered five saves in the loss, marking his fifth game this year with at least five saves.
• Lock Haven finished with a 19-9 shot advantage after tallying 14 attempts in the second half and held a 5-1 edge in corner kicks.
