ERIE, Pa. (Oct. 17) – Facing the defending-Atlantic Regional Champions, the California (PA) volleyball team was dealt a 3-0 loss (25-17, 25-14, 25-11) at Gannon in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West play on Friday night.
NOTES
• The Vulcans (15-5, 2-3) have lost 10-consecutive road matches against the Golden Knights dating back to the 2016 campaign.
• Cal was held to season lows of 20 kills and a .055 hitting percentage.
• Freshman
Olivia Weiseman led the team with six kills on 27 attempts, while junior
Sarah Stephenson and senior
Elisa Rugiero both finished with five kills.
• Senior libero
Caroline Mercer paced the defense with seven digs.
• The Vulcans committed seven attacking errors in both the first and third sets, hitting a -.071 clip in the third set.
• Cal made just one attack error in the second set yet tallied only six kills.
