CALIFORNIA (Jan. 8) – The California women's basketball team scored nine of the last 11 points to earn a 62-59 victory over Slippery Rock in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West action at the Convocation Center on Wednesday evening.

• The Vulcans (7-7, 4-4) were playing at home for the first time since Dec. 17.

Talia Gilliard and
Iyahnna Williams tied for the team lead with 16 points in the victory.
• Williams shot 7-of-13 from the floor and played all 40 minutes while making her first start since Nov. 18.
• Gilliard collected five steals on Wednesday and ranks third in the PSAC with a career-high 37 steals this season.

Allycia Harris finished with 10 points, six rebounds, one block and two steals against The Rock.
• Cal held a 13-11 lead at the end of the first quarter, as the teams combined to shoot just 9-of-30 (30.0 percent) from the floor during the opening 10 minutes.
• The Vulcans and Rock were tied at 25-25 at halftime after Slippery Rock scored the final seven points of the second quarter.
• Slippery Rock build a 35-27 lead in the initial three minutes of the third quarter before Cal evened the score at the end of the quarter, 43-43.
• The teams combined for six lead changes and three ties in the fourth quarter on Wednesday.
• The Rock held a 57-53 lead with 4:20 left to play before the Vulcans scored eight-consecutive points.
• Slippery Rock snapped a four-minute scoreless drought with 27 seconds remaining before missing a potential game-tying shot inside the paint with five seconds left in regulation.
• The Vulcans finished the game with a .333 field-goal percentage (23-of-69) and attempted nearly 25 more shots than The Rock.
• Cal collected 24 offensive rebounds in the victory and forced 28 turnovers against Slippery Rock.
