CALIFORNIA (Sept. 8) – The Vulcans surrendered a pair of early goals before scoring in the final nine minutes in a 2-1 loss against defending-Great Midwest Champion (G-MAC) Champion Northwood (Mich.) on Sunday afternoon in non-conference play at the Phillipsburg Soccer Facility.
NOTES
• California (0-1-1) was facing a current G-MAC member for the first time since 2015.
• The Timberwolves (1-0-0) scored their initial goal off a deflection following a corner kick in the eighth minute.
• Northwood added to the lead less than three minutes later at the 10:35-mark on a header.
• The Vulcans cut the deficit to a 2-1 margin in the 82nd minute on a goal by senior
