Cal registers shutout win over WV Wesleyan

Green tallies game-winning goal in 16th minute; Vulcans post first home shutout victory since 2022

CALIFORNIA (Sept. 11) – The California (PA) women's soccer team scored in the early portion of the game on Wednesday evening before recording a 1-0 shutout win versus West Virginia Wesleyan at the Phillipsburg Soccer Facility in non-conference action.

NOTES
• The Vulcans (1-0-1) tallied their first home shutout victory since the 2022 season.
• Junior transfer Alicia Green posted the game-winning goal (unassisted) at the 15:16-mark from the right corner of the box after beating her defender on the end line.
• Senior Emily Ouimet made five saves in the win and registered the 11th shutout of her career.
• The Bobcats and Vulcans both finished with eight shots and eight corner kicks in the contest.

• Cal opens PSAC West play on Saturday, Sept. 14, when it travels to face Edinboro at 1 p.m.
