EDINBORO, Pa. (Sept. 14) – The Vulcans scored a trio of first-half goals on Saturday afternoon while opening Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West play with a 3-1 victory at Edinboro.
NOTES
• California (2-0-1) scored three goals in a game for the first time since Oct. 19, 2022.
• The Vulcans also posted their first road win in the series with the Fighting Scots since 2011.
• Cal took a 1-0 lead in the ninth minute when sophomore
Veronica Warunek scored her second goal of the year following a pass senior
Lorina Romeis.
• The Vulcans extended the advantage five minutes later when freshman
Ida Zakrisson registered the first goal of her career (unassisted).
• Edinboro responded with a goal at the 19:53-mark before Cal countered with an insurance goal by senior
Ashley Wilson after a pass by Zakrisson in the 24th minute.
• Senior goalkeeper
Emily Ouimet finished with three saves while facing nine shots in the victory.
