CALIFORNIA (Sept. 28) – Facing one of the top scoring teams in the country, the Vulcans played to a 0-0 scoreless tie against No. 2 Gannon on Saturday afternoon at the Phillipsburg Soccer Facility in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West play.
NOTES
• California (3-3-2, 2-2-1) held Gannon scoreless for only the second time in the last 31 games.
• The Vulcans earned their first point in the series with Gannon since the 2019 campaign.
• Cal posted its first win or tie over a nationally-ranked opponent since Sept. 19, 2015.
• The Vulcans threated to score in the 18th minute before a shot deflected off the crossbar and Cal was then whistled for offside on the rebound attempt.
• Senior goalkeeper
Emily Ouimet made four saves while facing nine shots, including seven in the second half.
• She recorded her 13th career shutout on Saturday while becoming the fifth goalie in school history to log at least 5,000 career minutes.
