CLARION, Pa. (Sept. 24) – Playing their first match in a week, the Vulcans opened Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West play with a 3-1 loss (25-19, 27-25, 17-25, 25-16) at Clarion – the defending-NCAA Atlantic Regional Champion – on Tuesday evening.
NOTES
• California (3-6, 0-1) committed just three attacking errors and posted a .239 hitting percentage while winning the third set.
• Freshman
Anna-Marie Petricevic led the team with a season-high 12 kills on a .258 clip.
• Senior
Allie Droneberger tallied her second kill/dig double-double of the fall with 10 kills and 10 digs.
• Junior
Adrianna Favata finished with 20 assists and eight digs on Tuesday.
• Fellow junior
Caroline Mercer paced the defense with 15 digs, while two others players collected eight digs in the losing effort.
• Senior
Sophia Johnson recorded five blocks (two solo) against the Golden Eagles.
