LOCK HAVEN, Pa. (Sept. 21) – The California (PA) football team scored 10 points in the fourth quarter and used back-to-back sacks in the closing seconds to seal a 27-20 win at Lock Haven on Saturday afternoon in non-conference play.
NOTES
• Senior quarterback
Davis Black posted 202 passing yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions on 14-of-24 attempts.
• Senior wide receiver
Omari Hopkins collected 31 yards on four catches with two touchdowns and sophomore
D'Avay Johnson finished with two receptions for 98 yards, highlighted by an 83-yard touchdown.
• Sophomore running back
Bobbie Boyd, Jr. tallied 95 yards on 18 carries in the win.
• Senior linebacker
John Hutchinson led the team with 11 tackles (eight solo), including 2.5 TFL.
• Classmate
Armani Caraballo and sophomore
Julien Laventure both registered 2.0 sacks on Saturday.
GAME RECAP
• Cal (2-1) took a 7-0 lead on its first offensive play of the game when Black connected with Johnson for an 82-yard touchdown with 10:47 left in the first quarter.
• The Bald Eagles (1-2) tied the score nearly two minutes later with a 40-yard touchdown pass.
• Lock Haven later converted a 27-yard field goal at the 4:32-mark of the first quarter to take a 10-7 lead.
• The Vulcans tied the score at 10-10 in the opening minute of the second quarter with a 37-yard field goal by senior
Anthony Beitko.
• Lock Haven responded with a 22-yard touchdown pass with 12:09 remaining before halftime.
• Cal mounted a 15-play drive late in the second quarter to tie the score at 17-17 on a 10-yard touchdown pass from Black to Hopkins.
• The Vulcans forced turnovers on back-to-back drives by the Bald Eagles late in the third quarter with an interception by junior defensive back

• Cal broke the tie with a 35-yard field goal by Beitko with 11:06 remaining in the fourth quarter.
• The Vulcans extended the lead to 27-17 with a six-yard touchdown reception by Hopkins from Black at the 2:48-mark.
• Lock Haven answered with a 26-yard field goal with 37 seconds left to trim the deficit to a 27-20 margin.
• The Bald Eagles recovered the onside kick near midfield before Cal sealed the victory after registering sacks on second and third down.
