CALIFORNIA (Sept. 28) – Senior quarterback
Davis Black threw four touchdown passes and the defense allowed just over 200 total yards on Saturday afternoon, as the Vulcans rolled to a 49-7 victory over Gannon in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West action at Adamson Stadium.
NOTES
• Black finished with season highs of 297 passing yards and four touchdowns on 23-of-31 attempts with no interceptions.
• He also totaled a team-leading 50 rushing yards on six attempts in the win.
• Sophomore
D'Avay Johnson led all players with 103 receiving yards and one touchdown on six catches.
• Junior wide receiver
Eric Willis III finished with 87 yards and a team-best seven receptions with one touchdown, while senior
Omari Hopkins totaled 45 receiving yards and one touchdown on three catches.
• Sophomore defensive back
Khalil Taylor paced the team with six tackles (four solo), along with 1.0 TFL and one forced fumble.
• Sophomore linebacker
Grant Hopple recorded an eight-yard interception return for a touchdown.
• The Golden Knights were limited to 203 total yards of offense after managing just nine first downs.
• Cal has won 13 of the 15 all-time meetings against Gannon while posting its first home win in the series since 2016.
• The Vulcans converted 12-of-16 third downs and were two-of-two on fourth-down attempts.

• Following a Gannon touchdown, Black found Willis for a 24-yard touchdown with 2:06 left in the second quarter.

Eric McKan III on the final offensive possession of the first half, 28-7.
• Hopple stretched the lead with a defensive touchdown at the 10:09-mark of the third quarter.
• Black connected with Johnson for a 22-yard touchdown with 7:36 left in the quarter to give the Vulcans a 42-7 lead.
• Cal scored its final touchdown early in the fourth quarter with a four-yard touchdown pass from Black to senior wide receiver
