ERIE, Pa. (Feb. 3) – Facing the No. 2 team in the country, the Vulcans trailed by just five points midway through the fourth quarter before falling by a 69-57 margin at Gannon in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West action on Saturday afternoon.

• The California (PA) women's basketball team drops to 14-7 overall with a 9-6 mark in league play.
• Gannon extended the nation's longest winning streak to 20 games while improving to 23-1 this season behind a perfect 15-0 record in conference action.
• The Golden Knights have swept the regular-season series in each of the last two years, while the Vulcans won the 2023 PSAC Championship over the Golden Knights.

Allycia Harris led the team with 17 points on sis-of-eight shooting and five-of-six from the free-throw line.
• She also added nine rebounds (four offensive) while playing 26 minutes on Saturday.

GAME ACTION
• Cal scored seven-straight points to take a 7-2 lead at the 6:19-mark of the first quarter.
• The Golden Knights responded with a 13-3 run to seize a 15-10 advantage with 1:38 left in the quarter.
• Gannon heled a 17-15 lead at the end of the quarter and made just one field in nearly five minutes to start the second quarter.
• The Vulcans tied the score at 19-19 before the Golden Knights scored eight-straight points to build a 27-19 lead with 2:17 left before halftime.
• Gannon maintained a 31-23 lead at the break with neither team making a three-pointer in the second quarter.
• The Golden Knights extended the lead to double-digits, 40-29, before the Vulcans posted a 14-4 rally to cut the deficit to 44-40 at the 3:34-mark of the third quarter.
• Gannon heled a 53-45 lead at the end of the quarter before Cal trailed by just 56-51 with 6:48 left to play.
• The Golden Knights then mounted a 10-1 run to take a 68-53 lead with 2:17 remaining.
• Cal shot 55 percent from the floor in the second half and finished the game with a .438 field-goal percentage (21-of-48).
• The Vulcans and Golden Knights combined for 72 points in the paint with the team making a combined six three-pointers.
• Gannon senior Samantha Pirosko and sophomore Bri Claxon both posted a 20-point game in the win.
