Vulcans register win at Seton Hill, 78-69

Terrell records second 30-point game this year; Cal forces 26 turnovers, collects 16 offensive rebounds

GREENSBURG, Pa. (Feb. 7) – Redshirt senior Dejah Terrell scored a season-high 36 points on Wednesday evening, as the California (PA) women's basketball team earned 78-68 win in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West play.

RECORDS/SERIES
• The Vulcans snapped a three-game losing streak to improve to 15-7 this season behind a 10-6 record in conference action.
• The Griffins fall to 12-10 overall with a 9-7 mark in league play.
• Cal has won all eight meetings against Seton Hill since the 2019-20 campaign.
• The Vulcans are now tied for fourth place in the divisional standings with six games remaining in the regular season.

STATS
• Terrell finished with 36 points on 14-of-23 shooting and eight-of-nine from the free-throw line.
• She also collected 13 rebounds (seven offensive) and three steals while playing all 40 minutes.
• Terrell scored a career-high 41 points during the 2019-20 campaign while at Albright (Pa.).
• The Reading native has registered a double-double six times over 11 games in the 2024 calendar year.
• Junior Allycia Harris added a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds (four offensive) in the win.
• Fellow junior Sierra Bermudez scored 15 points behind three-of-five from beyond the arc.
• Junior Iyahnna Williams tallied four points, three rebounds and three assists in 17 minutes off the bench.

GAME ACTION
• The score was even throughout the first quarter with no lead larger than four points and the score being tied at 13-13 at the end of the quarter.
• Cal posted a 10-3 run midway through the second quarter to take a 31-23 lead at the 4:11-mark.
• The Griffins cut the deficit to 35-33 with 53 seconds left before the break.
• Cal scored the final points of the quarter to hold a 39-33 advantage at halftime after shooting over 50 percent from the floor.
• The Vulcans posted the opening basket of the third quarter before the Griffins worked the deficit to three points, 43-40, at the 6:39-mark.
• Cal responded with a 10-2 rally to extend the lead to 53-42 with 2:24 left in the quarter.
• The Griffins trimmed the deficit to 10 points, 66-56, with 5:30 remaining in the fourth quarter.
• Cal countered with seven-unanswered points to take its largest lead of the game at 17 points, 75-58, at the 4:02-mark.
• The Griffins cut the lead to single digits with under two minutes remaining but managed just one field goal the remainder of the game.
• Cal finished the game with a .459 field-goal percentage (28-of-61) and converted 19-of-29 free-throw attempts (65.5 percent).
• The Vulcans forced 26 turnovers in the victory and collected 16 offensive rebounds.
• Seton Hill senior Christiane Frye led the team with 22 points on 9-of-20 shooting.

• The Vulcans return to action on Saturday, Feb. 10, when they host Slippery Rock at the Convocation Center in PSAC West plat at 1 p.m.
