CALIFORNIA (Dec. 17) – The California (PA) volleyball team placed four players on the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team on Tuesday afternoon.

Senior Allie Droneberger, junior Adrianna Favata, senior Sophia Johnson and sophomore Kay Lindenfelser received laurels from the organization with Droneberger earning the accolade for the third-consecutive season.

Droneberger led the team with 153 kills and ranked second on the team with 175.5 points while starting all 23 matches. She holds a 3.81 cumulative grade-point average (GPA) while completing a degree in biology with a concentration in pre-dentistry and a minor in chemistry.

A native of Arizona, Favata started every match this fall and paced the team while setting a career high with 340 assists. She boasts a 3.98 cumulative GPA while majoring in health sciences.

Johnson led the team with 97.0 blocks and 194.5 points, plus finished second on the team with 136 kills while playing all 82 sets. She maintains a 3.80 cumulative GPA while finishing a degree in health sciences with a concentration in pre-athletic training.

A native of Pittsburgh, Lindenfelser ranked third on the team with 193 digs while playing in 21 matches. She holds a 3.97 cumulative GPA while majoring in early childhood & elementary education.

To qualify for CSC Academic All-District honors, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, maintain a cumulative 3.50 GPA and have played in 90 percent of the team's matches or start 66 percent of the team's matches. Additionally, each institution is capped at four nominees in the sport of volleyball.
