Alexander, Polak both score 22 points; Vulcans finish with plus-14 rebounding advantage

CALIFORNIA (Dec. 17) – The California (PA) men's basketball team trailed by as many as 15 points midway through the second half before suffering an 86-84 loss to Bloomsburg in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Crossover action at the Convocation Center on Tuesday evening.

NOTES
• The Vulcans (6-7, 1-4) have now lost four games this year by six points or less.
• Sophomore Dalman Alexander registered a 20-point, 10-rebound double-double for the second-straight game.
• He set a career high with 22 points on 6-of-12 shooting and 10-of-11 from the free-throw line and added 11 rebounds (eight offensive), two assists and one steal.
• Redshirt junior Cam Polak scored 22 points on 8-of-14 from the floor, including four-of-eight from beyond the arc.
• Junior Donald Whitehead, Jr. finished with 16 points and five rebounds after missing the last three games.
• Freshman Duncan Moy tallied seven points, four rebounds and six assists in 18 minutes off the bench.
• Bloomsburg held a 36-25 lead at halftime after shooting over 50 percent from the floor and three-point territory in the first half.
• The Vulcans cut the deficit to six points early in the second half before the Huskies mounted a 17-8 run over five minutes to seize a 58-43 advantage.
• Cal later posted a 13-2 rally in just over one minute to trim the deficit to 79-78 with 2:55 left to play.
• The Vulcans were unable to overcome the deficit after making just one field goal over the final two minutes.
• Cal finished the game shooting 38.4 percent (28-of-73) from the floor and converted 18-of-20 (90.0 percent) from the charity stripe.
• The Vulcans held a 43-29 rebounding advantage after collecting 22 offensive rebounds.
• Cal also tallied 17 assists in the contest – their second-most over the last month.

• The Vulcans close out the calendar year on Saturday, Dec. 21, when they travel to face Kutztown at 3 p.m.
