California tallies victory against Wheeling

Trio of players score at least 15 points in win; Vulcans finish with nearly total 50 rebounds

EDINBORO, Pa. (Nov. 9) – The California (PA) women's basketball team posted an 81-56 win over Wheeling on Saturday afternoon at the MEC/PSAC Conference Challenge.

NOTES
• The Vulcans (2-0) scored over 80-points in back-to-back games this weekend, a feat last accomplished in January 2023.
• Junior Alicia Young led the team with 17 points on 7-of-12 from the floor, plus added eight rebounds and three steals.
• Sophomore Nina Shaw finished with 16 points on 6-of-11 shooting, four rebounds and four assists on Saturday.
• Senior Allycia Harris posted 15 points, nine rebounds and three assists versus the Cardinals.
• Sophomore Alivia Huffman tied for the team lead with nine rebounds off the bench.
• The Vulcans forced 22 turnovers in the victory, which led to 18 points.
• Cal limited Wheeling to just 3-of-12 shooting from long range (25.0 percent).

• Cal returns to action on Tuesday, Nov. 12, when it hosts Bowie State at the Convocation Center for its home-opener at 5 p.m.
